Danube Party Cruise with DJ
The Danube Party Cruise with DJ — known as the Danube Beat Boat Party — is Budapest’s longest-running and most popular weekly river party, running every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday night. The 3.5-hour experience includes a 2-hour Danube cruise on the MS Stadt Wien boat, a live DJ playing commercial hits and house music, a professional photographer, a free cloakroom, and multiple drink packages from basic entry up to unlimited drinks with a Mexican street food meal. The cruise departs from Akadémia Dock 2 on the Pest side (Id. Antall József rakpart, Budapest 1051) near the Chain Bridge. After the cruise, a party bus transfers guests to Morrisons 2 nightclub with skip-the-line VIP entry (included in some ticket tiers). Free cancellation up to 24 hours in advance.
Budapest has one of the most spectacular river settings of any European capital — and the Danube Beat Boat Party turns that setting into a dancefloor. Running since 2011 and regularly attracting up to 400 guests per night in summer, this is not a quiet sightseeing cruise with a playlist in the background. It is a full-scale river party, with the Parliament Building and Chain Bridge glowing behind the dancers on the upper deck as the DJ pushes commercial anthems and house tracks through the speakers.
If your idea of a perfect Budapest evening involves a dance floor, unlimited drinks, and one of the best views of the city in the world — all in the same place — this is it.

Ticket Tiers — Which One to Choose
This cruise is by far the best way to experience Budapest at night. We had so much fun with a great group of people, the drinks and service were excellent. The after-party is a must — we were taken to one of the city’s top clubs with VIP access.
The Danube Beat Boat Party offers four distinct ticket levels, giving guests flexibility depending on their budget and how big a night they want.
Budget Ticket — The full 2-hour boat party with DJ, photographer, and cloakroom. No drinks included; buy at the bar. Ideal if you’re watching spending or prefer to pay as you go.
All-Nighter Ticket — Includes everything in the Budget Ticket, plus discounts on food, a party bus transfer after the cruise, and skip-the-line entry to Morrisons 2 nightclub. Best if you want to continue the night on shore without queuing.
Drinks In Ticket — Includes everything in the All-Nighter, plus priority boarding from 20:30, and 2.5 hours of unlimited drinks (beer, wines, and long drinks — vodka, rum, gin, or whisky with mixer) during the boat party. This is the most popular option.
All-In Ticket — The complete package. Includes everything in the Drinks In Ticket, plus a Casa Mexa box meal (choice of two tacos or a quesadilla, served with tortilla chips, salsa, and guacamole). ### What’s Not Included (Budget / All-Nighter Tiers)
- Drinks (available to purchase at the bar — wide selection on board)
- Food (available on board; included in All-In Ticket)
- After-party (included in All-Nighter and above)
What You’ll See (Between the Dance Moves)
The cruise route runs between Margit Bridge and Lágymányosi Bridge — the full downtown stretch of the Danube — giving you the complete Budapest floodlit panorama from the water. This is the same scenery that makes Budapest one of the most-photographed rivers in Europe, now with a dancefloor in front of it.
Hungarian Parliament Building
The Parliament blazing gold in the night sky is the backdrop most guests photograph from the upper deck between tracks. Full details: Hungarian Parliament Building from the Danube.
Chain Bridge and Buda Castle
The Chain Bridge arches across the river with its illuminated towers, while Buda Castle glows on the hilltop above. See our Chain Bridge and Buda Castle & Castle Hill from the River guides.
Gellért Hill
The Citadel atop Gellért Hill and the Liberty Statue are visible from the southern end of the route. Full details: Gellért Hill & Citadel as Seen from the Danube.
Danube Cruise Meeting Point & Departure
The boat departs from Akadémia Dock 2, Id. Antall József rakpart, Budapest 1051, on the Pest side near the Chain Bridge. Look for the MS Stadt Wien boat and Budapest Boat Party guides at the dock. The closest public transport stop is Széchenyi István tér (M1 metro line). Doors open approximately 30 minutes before departure — the boat will not wait for latecomers.
Important note: city monument lights switch off at 10 PM in Budapest. The Danube Beat schedule has been adjusted to depart earlier than its original 10 PM slot to account for this — check your ticket for the current departure time. For directions, see our How to Get to the Danube Cruise Departure Points guide.
The After-Party
For All-Nighter, Drinks In, and All-In ticket holders, the night continues after the boat docks. A party bus picks up guests at the pier and transfers them to Morrisons 2 — one of Budapest’s biggest and most popular clubs — with skip-the-line VIP entry included. The total experience (cruise + after-party) runs approximately 3.5–4 hours.
Who Is This Danube Party Cruise Best For?
This cruise is primarily for solo travellers, groups of friends, and anyone who wants a proper night out in Budapest rather than a relaxing sightseeing experience. It is particularly popular with travellers on their first night in the city — the two-hour cruise covers every landmark while the party energy makes it immediately social.
If you want to see Budapest from the Danube in a calmer, more contemplative setting, the Nighttime Sightseeing Danube River Cruise or the Danube Unlimited Prosecco & Beer Cruise are better fits. For the dinner-with-entertainment format, see the Danube 4-Course Dinner Cruise + Live Folk Music.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the minimum age to board the Danube Beat Boat Party?
You must be at least 18 years old to attend. Photo ID is required at boarding. The boat is 21+ after 11 PM on summer weekends.
How long is the cruise, and what time does it depart?
The cruise typically runs 2.5 to 3 hours and departs in early evening (usually around 7 or 8 PM), returning before midnight. Exact times vary by season.
Are drinks included in the ticket, or do I pay separately?
This depends on your ticket tier—higher tiers include drinks and food, while basic entry does not. Check your specific ticket tier details to confirm what’s included.
What should I wear to a river party cruise?
Smart casual to club wear is typical—jeans and a nice top, or dress pants and a shirt work well. Avoid overly casual wear like gym clothes. Bring a light jacket as it gets cooler on the water.
Will I get seasick, and is the Danube usually rough?
The Danube is generally calm, especially in the city stretch where the cruise operates. If you’re prone to seasickness, take medication beforehand, stay on deck for fresh air, and avoid going below.
Do I need to book tickets in advance, or can I buy them at the dock?
Advance booking is strongly recommended, especially in summer when the boat sells out. Walk-up tickets may be unavailable on peak nights, so book online a few days ahead.
